SNOW DAY!!!!!!!

For the first time in thirteen years, IU finally had a snow day yesterday. As always, it felt pretty good to have a day off--- even though getting around was nothing easy.

Wednesday also had a new episode of LOST which was confusing as can be but equally as awesome. It's crazy to think that Charles Widmore had been one of the "Others" on the island, which, for those of you who watch the show, was really captivating.

The Hoosiers again almost pulled one out last night against Northwestern. We just can't buy a win and its pretty frustrating. I thought IU would be great for baskeball my four years here, and well, not so much. But at least they will be solid in the future behind Crean.

Time to enjoy the weekend and the snow. Have safe travels!

Someone has a case of the Mondays...

You have all heard the statement in Office Space of having a case of the Mondays. And frankly, I just do not have it anymore. Sure, Monday means an end to the weekend and the realization that classes are again upon us (but it is not that bad right?) But this week has a lot to offer.

Wednesday night, LOST will again be on. If you are not a fan, I encourage you to watch... easily the best and most intriguing show on television. Last weeks premiere was nothing short of amazing.

Sunday, of course, there is the Super Bowl. I think Pittsburgh is going to win that (which kills me as a Bengals fan), but they are clearly the better team in my view. With the Super Bowl comes legendary Super Bowl ads. As a marketer, I have a whole new perspective on what kind of ads are run: whether the length of the ad, or the message being conveyed by the ad, I have a good idea of whether there was a successful ad campaign. My guess is there, as always, will be some notably good ads, but with the economy the way it is, I do not expect a whole lot of spending to go towards Super Bowl commercials.

Anyways, looking forward to the week ahead. I have a quiz in Creativity and Marketing tomorrow, and not a whole lot else going on. And it was too bad our Hoosiers just could not pull out the win against Minnesota this past Sunday... I am confident Crean will get us bback to prominence in the seasons to come.

Inauguration day on campus

The feeling here in Bloomington is one of excitement and anticipation. Seniors are feeling the harsh economic times that have hit us with the lack of companies with the ability to hire new recruits, and thus hope for a new tomorrow with the inauguration of Obama. Liberals and conservatives alike seem to be feeling the excitement of the day... the top discussion topic in all classes has been Obama and the job ahead, as well as a glow to everyone's face, a belief that today marks the day when a turnaround begins.

Speaking of classes...

The first week has come and gone. I am in four classes (Marketing Strategy, Creativity and Marketing, the Search for Life in the Universe, and Judicial Politics.) I am glad to have only 4 classes in my last semester before going to law school, and all my classes offer their own unique qualities that I believe I will enjoy. I will certainly speak more about these classes in the weeks to follow.

Happy Inauguration day!
